Articled clerk at William Webb, Son and Smith in Morpeth from 1973 until 1975. Then at Molineux, Mckeag & Cooper until 1978. After qualifying as a solicitor in December 1978 went on to become equity partner. He left McKeags in 1983 to set up Row & Scott with his friend and colleague Barry Row.

Prior to joining Row & Scott Carolanne has worked exclusively in the North East for both traditional Law firms and a Local charitable organisation. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2005 and becoming a partner is a previous law firm, Carolanne now specialises in Children Law and representing parents and children in Care Proceedings.
